((RED)) World Aids Day

Today is ((World Aids Day )). Having spent sometime in Africa, I have seen the affects of this disease first hand. It was my first day in Zambia when we went into a compound and visited families struggling with this disease. We sat with a woman who had 2 children and one of them being an infant. Her husband just left her for another woman. She had no money and was trying to feed her family. On top of this she had aids and couldn't breast feed her baby without passing it on. She gave her baby watered down nshima (potato like consistency, with no flavor) but the baby wasn't drinking it. The people there struggle with this everyday. Kids are orphaned because of it. Join the fight. -

...2 Weeks and counting....

....I don't bite my nails, but I am starting to think I should. Graduation is in 17 days!! My oh my...life just got scary. I never thought I would want this part of life (college) to continue......actually, if I could just freeze it, maybe live the Truman show for a few months.

But it's time to be a big girl.

If only being a big girl could take me here...

OR here...

And I wouldn't even mind it here...

*Dream* jobs a wait me.....

and

I'll keep wishing' until then.

Love.

Black Friday, Black Friday, Black Friday!

...I am not going to lie....I am not a big Black Friday shopper. Why fight the crowds when you can get the deals online.

Yes....there are some great door busters, but shopping at 3am is not necessary.

However, Here are some great deals and tips for getting the most out of your Black Friday shopping.

Online--
*Amazon.com is by far my favorite online retailer. You can seriously get everything there. This year amazon is one up'ing everyone by offer Black Friday Week deals. Amazon will match or beat their competitors prices!

* Apple-- I know I want some apple products, and I am hoping for some great B.F. deals, but so far all they are telling us is that there will be free shipping. http://bit.ly/lgZr

*There are definetly more online...than this.

Apparel
* Old Navy is running the best Black Friday deals in my opinion. They will even be open on Thanksgiving Day for a few hours! They have door busters for the first, I wanna say 3 customers and everything in the store in on sale. I was in there last weekend and they had the cutest pea coats for $65!!! That is a great deal for pea coats, but get this.....they will be $25 for the sale! *TIP:REMEMBER....Old Navy tends to run small.

*Betsy Johnson. For those of you who love this over-the-top designer she is offering 40% off of the online store from Nov. 27-30.

*H&M-- I love H&M!!! They are offering 25% off for early shoppers 5am-10am.

*Forever 21. I heard rumors that they are opening early and doing door busters, but nothing is confirmed.

*Macy's- I am a little biased when it comes to Macy's, but they have great things on sale. Customer service...needs some works.

Other--
*Kohl's,Victoria Secret, NY&Co.,

Misc.
*Target is one of my favorite places to buy just about anything. On Friday they open at 5am. Here is their B.F. ad. http://bit.ly/8CfN1x

*Walmart- Not gonna lie..next to best buy Walmart has the best deals. They open at 5am but will allow you to wait inside the store before midnight. http://bit.ly/6xGGQv

*Borders--- Enough said. They have 50 Great Gifts for 50% off! http://bit.ly/6WAUXE

*BestBuy- Hands down has the best B.F. deals. Forbes thinks so too!! They open at 5am with lots of doorbusters.

*If you need some camping gear R.E.I might be your place.

****If you are by an Outlet....their deals are even better...with door busters and up to 60% off.

And because I love you...here is an excel spreadsheet of everything..... http://bit.ly/4tfX7o

Graduation.

I feel like I am always saying this. I have no idea what I am doing come January 1, 2010. I graduate in about 6 weeks...eek. It was only 6 months ago, when I had no idea what I was doing for summer. This drives me absolutely crazy! I am a planner. When I tell people I am graduating they always ask what my plan is. This question is almost as bad as the, "Are you dating anyone question."

I know everything will work out just fine. Maybe not how I imagined it, but I'll take it.

After this semester I am moving in with my parents. Besides the fact the I don't know anyone down there, I am actually okay with this. I look forward to always having food, a queen size bed, parking etc.

Love you all. Have a great weekend.

Obsessed.

When I first saw these shoes, I thought the idea was great. I did not think the shoes were great. About 2 1/2 months ago I was in a bind and needed closed toe shoes when I was out of town. I quickly went to Nordstrom hoping I would find something that wasn't too expensive since I didn't really need the shoes. I tried on a pair of Tom's shoes and Converse. I was shocked to find that I loved both pairs. I surprised myself and went with the Tom's.

Reason:
#1 They are SOO comfortable.!! Converse still give me blisters.
#2 For every shoe purchased Tom's gives a pair to a child in need.
#3 I already have a pair of converse.

I am so happy with my purchase. I wear them with everything..jeans, dresses, sweats etc. I definitely recommend them and of course, it's for a good cause.

I've tried so hard.

Here's a pic...

So I have attempted two maybe three posts in the last months. They are good ones too, but blogger is making me mad. It is not allowing my to post my pictures the way I want. So after a few times trying I gave up. I'll keep working on it.

Anyway...remember those amazing Nordstrom cookies I discovered over the summer, I was obsessed with???

Well I decided to try and make them. I took my favorite chocolate chip cookie recipe and adapted it to make a lemon, coconut and white chocolate cookie. Here is the recipe:

4 1/2 C flour
2 tsp. baking soda
2 C butter
1 1/2 C packed brown sugar
1/2 C sugar
1 pkg. lemon instant pudding
4 eggs
2 tsp. vanilla ext.
4 cups white chocolate chips
1/2 C coconut

Cook 350 until golden 10ish mins.

mix: flour and baking soda and set aside

cream: butter, sugar, pudding, then mix in eggs and the vanilla.

..add in flour mixture.

finally, add the white choc. chips and coconut.

ENJOY! They have already received great reviews from friends.
